"Group (therapy) lives in the here-and-now, and it also doubles back on itself; it performs a self-reflective loop and examines the here-and-now behavior that has just occurred"
Irwin Yalom
Group Therapy Clinic

Group therapy provides a safe environment to discover and to open up to the choices available to the you in your life.

Relating with others is one of the most effective ways of discovering and learning about yourself, and in a group interaction you have the opportunity to build and develop confidence and trust in yourself and others.

This group is a microcosm of our real world, the difference is that this therapeutic group offer us the opportunity to explore and try new behaviours in an environment of total acceptance and no judgement.

In group work we can be our true self and learn new ways of interacting with others, it is an opportunity to shed our fears and self-judgement, an opportunity to learn self-acceptance and understanding, this is a supportive environment, we are surrounded by others that experience the world pretty much the same ways as we do; an environment were we can learn about ourselves and others.

Group therapy meets once a week to discuss, to present, and to listen to each other experience of the world around us, in a safe, non-judgemental conditions; it is for individuals that may be experiencing common problems of interpersonal underpinnings like:

  • A sense of something missing in life
  • Feeling of meaninglessness
  • Compulsive workaholishm
  • Diffused anxiety
  • Identity confusion
  • Self-derogation (belittle the self)
  • Self-destructive behaviours
  • Fears of success
  • Anhedonia (the absence of pleasure or the ability to experience it)
  • Alexithymia (inability to express emotions verbally)
